Paddington returns to Peru to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now lives in the Bear House in retirement. Paddington’s Adventure (2014) follows
The Paddington we never needed. My son was 7 years old when Paddington Adventure 2 came out and it’s one of my favorite movies, so waiting 7 years for the third part brought with it the hope that Paddington Adventure Peru could be as good as the first 2 film. This is not so.
Byrd, are practically non-existent
Children, now young adults, are reduced to very little dialogue. The jokes we got from the main characters, such as Mrs. Sally Hawkins brought such charming quirkiness to the character of Mary Brown that, whatever the franchise might say, she was truly irreplaceable.
The genius farce of the second film has largely disappeared or its reconstruction is repeated, but not as well
The legacy of the show would have benefited if Mary Brown simply wasn’t in this adventure or had to give up. I may be alone in this opinion, but I really wanted to see a bit of Paddington’s relationship with his Aunt Lucy, and that wasn’t done either. The characters of Banderas and Gene also do not work, although I do not think that this is the merit of any of the actors.
Return Sally Hawkins to Paddington Adventures 4 and then complete the series
I was glad to see “and Phoenix Buchanan as Phoenix Buchanan” in the credits. The transition from brilliantly charming and funny to Paddington’s Adventures in Peru is such a shame.
