I’m not a big fan of musicals

However, I really appreciate the fusion of excellent singing, acting and an original plot with a moral backdrop, that this film provides, any film that brings to light “the scattered”; and the needless massacres of innocent people in Mexico because of the cartels catch my attention with a Mexican accent (since she is from Spain), not to mention the portrait of a man and a woman at the extremes of that spectrum, from drug lord to caring Woman, from father to mother.
The ending is sad, but the point is made
The fact that the wife does not discern the difference is unacceptable, but such is life. I am happy that this film and its performers have received the attention at Cannes they richly deserve.
