Interesting people and plots
Billy Bob Thornton is welcomed back to Texas from his Friday Nights in 2006. The feel is Yellowstone and this is a welcome series with some reality versus superheroes and fantasy. Based in the Permian Basin oilfield, great casting so far! Us Oilfield guys shake our heads at the inaccuracies of country life and explosions/blowouts.
Needs torque, Cheater pipe not tested first?
The technical glitches in the first three episodes are embarrassing and their technical advisor got everything wrong in the blowout scene. Old valve stuck, 24 inch pipe wrench (applied backwards and hammered near the top? 100% wrong. No hammer unless brass hammer (ie no sparks)?
A chaotic technical director
No experienced Oilfield downstream crew would have ever done this. Billy is then seen as a “Landman” trying to put out a blowout (never saw a Landman on site). Experienced and again puts the wrench in backwards and hits his finger? Just ridiculous.
