Featured on CBS News Sunday Morning: Episode #457 (2022)
I watched it out of curiosity, without any high expectations, just surprised to see Stallone in a series. You can feel the tension in the scenes, and it’s pretty realistic as far as the plot goes. Not to say it’s humorous, but some funny scenes stemming from Dwight (Stallone) being released from a 25-year prison sentence and not fully integrated into the current world; so I guess the sudden transition will create some interesting problems for him, and therefore for us. I’m glad someone told him how to use Uber, it was funny while it lasted.
It’s a pretty clever script, but not in a witty way, which bodes well
Sure, Stallone is heavily featured, but the rest of the cast seems pretty good. The show literally feels like you took gangsters written for an early 90s movie and just threw them into 2022 for a good mix of humor and violence. I thought it was just going to be a throwaway show like some of the newer Stallion movies; mostly just relying on his name and performances, but Taylor Sheridan does a good job here writing, worthy of Stallone’s performance. I think it’s going to be fun to watch the macho Stallone build a criminal empire from scratch in the middle of nowhere in Tulsa.
I went in with no high expectations
I love the way it feels at times in this western oats, still with the mob. I think the show could go under the radar and then get some exposure with people wondering how they never picked it up before because I haven’t seen that many Paramount commercials. , but if I have to say the premiere could be really fun to watch. If it continues, great, if it improves, fantastic.
I’ll add a rating after more episodes air and update if anything changes dramatically in the show
