Graham Norton is in: Billy Crystal/Emily Mortimer/Hugh Bonneville/Pharrell Williams/Michael Kiwanuka (2024)
Scenario
Paddington returns to Peru to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now lives at the Retirement Bears Home. With the Brown family, an exciting adventure begins when a mystery takes them on an unexpected journey. Paul King, the director of the previous two films, decided not to direct this installment. However, he came up with the idea for this third film and was involved as an executive producer. Well, Mrs.
Brown has taken a new direction
For those who don’t know, her previous owner Sally Hawkins said it was time to move on. I tried to get attached to her, but to me Emily Mortimer is just an older product of the London school of cute girls. I know the show has moved on, but Emily’s opening moves are annoying, flat and uninspiring. For a few minutes I thought Oh no!! I tried to warm up to her, later in the film she made some strange progress…
Let’s be honest
the least they could have done was give her a meaningful script, she seemed too much like a little wife who doesn’t talk much. Sorry Em! Same Madeleine Harris as Judy, great, maybe more jokes next time, both of them. Maybe she tried to be Sally Hawkins sometimes, I’m not sure, but she had big shoes to fill and Sally was a huge success. They all ended up doing their roles very well.
This journey takes him around the world, guess where
So the otherwise charming Peruvian takes the initiative this time and comes to the aid of his family members. A family member is in trouble, and the oldest madness and deadly sin is the cause of all the trouble. The scenery of the faraway place is stunning, just amazing, it inspired me to go there, as well as London, which is sadly happy. The film has a lot of fun, action and even tears, but for very young children, not very brave characters, the performance will come across as less warm, sometimes scary, sometimes so I thought. Visually it is as stunning as the previous films, although the script is sometimes shallow and a little predictable, the secrets revealed were simple enough for a five-year-old to understand…
the target audience
aha… Haha… that does not take away from the impact of the film’s CGI, and especially deafening. Forget it if you have healthy phobias of certain creatures (not snakes). It seems that Boneville has had a hair transplant, I’m not sure, but as always he gives a great performance, as do Walters and some great newcomers to the story, let’s just say I don’t think this is the end.
